Gone are the days when you had to spend a bomb to own a smartphone.

This Android phone boasts an iPhone?s Siri-like voice recognition tool and a lot more to keep you engrossed

Gone are the days when you had to spend a bomb to own a smartphone.

Domestic phone maker Micromax, known for its reasonable pricing, this time has something interesting to offer. The Micromax A50 is a good-looking smartphone with a shiny white and sleek body, made of plastic. It will be liked for its 3-inch capacitive touchscreen, 3G, Google Play, modest price and the voice recognition tool AISHA.

For a smartphone, it is very attractively priced and if you do not want to spend more than R5,000 for a phone, you can still have a full-fledged smartphone experience with Ninja A50. With its wide touchscreen interface, you can have an all-inclusive internet experience including Web browsing, social networking and video streaming, which on its 3-inch display could seem ordinary, particularly during video playbacks.

The memory is decent too. With a 650 MHz processor and 32 GB of expandable storage, you have a fair amount of brain and brawn. The sound quality is very strong, so is the call quality. As far as battery life is concerned, it lasts one to two days on normal use. Its other perks include FM, music player, dual SIM, Android 2.3 operating system, 2 megapixel camera, 3.5 mm jack, 3G and Wi-Fi. Like the Siri of Apple iPhone 4S, A50 Ninja has an Indian voice recognition tool called artificial intelligence speech handset assistant (AISHA).

You will be close to the social network if you are using this handset. From finding facts on search engines to making calls and finding locations through GPS, AISHA does it all. It provides up to date news on the latest events with features powered by Twitter and Bing. It is Indian, because it effortlessly understands Indian English and is fairly accurate with answers to most of your queries, if articulated clearly. Moreover, through back-end tie ups with Indian portals like Timesjobs.com and simplymarry.com, A50Ninja provides services essentially relevant to an Indian. If it all it has drawbacks, it is poor display and camera quality.
