Indian high net worth individuals (HNIs) prefer to invest in real estate followed by fixed-income products.
According to Capgemini’s 2014 Asia Pacific Wealth Report, India stood out for its third-highest allocation to fixed income globally at 21.5%, possibly as a result of higher interest rates in the country that drove allocations away from cash.
Indian HNIs are also increasing investing in international markets to diversify their portfolio and Asia Pacific remains their most preferred geography. In terms of investment of passion, jewellery, gems and watch are most popular followed by luxury collectibles like automobiles, boats, and private jets.
