HRD Minister Smriti Irani has congratulated the toppers of CBSE Class XII examinations, applauding them for putting in hard work and making their families proud.
Hailing the performance of the subject toppers, she said "examinations, marks, values and character in life are the means to move forward and achieve progress".
"I applaud those who have worked hard and have got good results which make them and their families proud," the minister said in her message.
The results, which were declared during the week separately for different zones, saw girls faring much better than boys, with the overall countrywide pass percentage standing at 82.66 per cent.
In her message, the Minister said, "I wish all the students success in achieving their dreams in whatever walk of life they find joy and fulfilment and thereby contribute to healthy, harmonious society and strong nation".
HRD Minister Smriti Irani was caught in a row over her educational qualification as soon as she was appointed minister. She finally broke her silence on Thursday and said "extraneous circumstances" were created to deviate her attention from work and asked the people to judge her by her work.
Smriti Irani reacted two days after the Congress launched a broadside against her, questioning her ability to deliver as HRD minister as she was "not even a graduate".
