Alia Bhatt’s ‘2 States’ box office collections hit Rs 100 crore

‘2 States’ turns Rs 100 cr-movie; box office collections in India at Rs 87 cr and abroad Rs 17 cr.

Ali Bhatt-Arjun Kapoor starrer ‘2 States’ has been doing brisk business with excellent box office collections, clocking Rs 76.3 crore at the end of its second weekend.

‘2 States’ domination at the box office over its peers also spilled over to the third week with the films’ collections touching Rs 87.31 crore (India business). The film’s opening day and weekend box office collections were Rs 12.42 crore and Rs 38.06 crore respectively.

‘2 States’ has done exceptional business in the international markets too by collecting Rs 17 crore, including Rs 8.79 crore from the US market, Rs 1.53 crore from Canada, Rs 3.99 crore from the UK and Rs 2 crore from Australia.

Taken together, ‘2 State’ box office collections have clocked more than Rs 100 crore (gross) and films remains only two places behind ‘Jai Ho’ and ‘Gunday’ when it comes to domestic box office collections.

Now, the question remains, whether Alia Bhatt can power ‘2 States’ to surpass the current highest grosser of the year – ‘Jai Ho’. The Salman Khan film collected Rs 116 crore.
