Xiaomi has launched a new 4K Mi TV that touts HDR10 support, voice search functionality, and smart apps. The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A sports a 50-inch 4K UHD display and will sit next to the already available five models under the Mi TV 4A range. Xiaomi’s new smart TV has been launched in China at a price of 2,399 yuan (approximately Rs 24,000). The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 50-inch registrations will open on Friday, January 19 while it will go on sale from Tuesday, January 23. There is no information if this version of Xiaomi Mi TV 4A will be launched in India in the future.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 50-inch comes with a 4K UHD display with a resolution of 3,840×2,160 pixels, 60Hz refresh rate, 178-degree viewing angle, 8ms dynamic response, and 5000: 1 contrast ratio. It comes with support for HDR10 and HLG for a clearer view. The display fills the frame leaving little bezels on the edges. The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 50-inch comes with a Mi TV Bar integrated with two 8W wireless rear satellite speakers and a subwoofer. There is a Dolby and DTS-HD support on the sound system of this Xiaomi Mi TV 4A model.
The internals of the Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 50-inch model are powered by a quad-core 64-bit Amlogic T962 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and 750MHz Mali 450 GPU, coupled with 2GB of DDR4 RAM and 8GB of eMMC5 inbuilt storage to install apps. It runs on PatchWall, which is essentially a layer of Android, equipped with artificial intelligence to recommend different programmes and movies.
Xiaomi’s PatchWall OS also powers the Mi Remote Control that comes with voice search and gesture support. It supports Bluetooth to pair with the Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 50-inch model, along with other Mi home appliances. The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 50-inch model supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2 LE alongside featuring Mi Port, three HDMI ports, one AV port, two USB ports, and one Ethernet (LAN) port.
