Magic to pull in Kerala voters
The Election Commission will use magic to encourage voting. Included in its voter awareness programme is a 25-minute show led by magician Gopinath Muthukad, which will be presented by Magic Academy at Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. The programme will be telecast throughout the state. .

Chennai: BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said the ruling parties in the four poll-bound states and Puducherry will lose due to bad governance and corruption. ?The BJP will enter the Assembly in all these states on its own,? he said.

FIR against Gogoi
Guwahati: Two citizens of Jorhat, Assam, have filed complaints with the EC as well as FIRs with the police against Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for holding a press conference in his hometown on Sunday after the campaign had ended the day before. One complainant, Rintu Goswami, said the district election officer had made it clear that the deadline was 3 pm of April 2.
Minister censured
Guwahati: The EC has censured Assam Health Minister and Congress candidate Himanta Biswa Sarma for taking along with him several thousand supporters for filing his nomination papers two weeks ago. The EC examined CDs from the official machinery which proved that four to five thousand party workers could not have accumulated spontaneously as claimed by the minister.
