The soon to release Yash Raj Film featuring Rani Mukerji, Mardaani, seems to have had a run in with the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Apparently, the CBFC came down hard on the film and its maker with reference to a certain dialogue the film features being mouthed by a politician that says, ‘Mera shauq rape hai’. However, the producer of the film Aditya Chopra apparently argued vehemently with the board members, claiming that the said dialogue was necessary to depict the dark side of human trafficking. Unfortunately, despite the strong argument, Adi had to finally give in to the demands of the board.

If that wasn’t enough the CBFC also took objection to a scene that shows a young girl with blood oozing down her thighs, and also to a scene in which young girls are brutally hosed down and stripped by the force of the water. While the board has asked for the deletion of the first scene, the second has been requested to be toned down.

But despite these changes, Mardaani that is Yash Raj Film’s most gritty and brutally raw film till date has been granted an ‘A’ certificate.
