Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 has set a new record in Bollywood with its box office collections, shattering the old one set by Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3.
Indicating that Aamir Khan still has his finger on the pulse of the film-going public, his bikes and babes thriller Dhoom 3 has bagged Rs 100 cr in just three days, leaving behind Krrish 3, which managed the sum in a relatively staid 4 days.
Earlier Dhoom 3 had beaten the opening day record of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer’s Chennai Express by collecting Rs 36.22 cr against the latter’s Rs 33.12 cr.

Dhoom 3 was directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and stars Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif – it was released on Friday.
Now, it remains to be seen how much time Dhoom 3 is going to take to beat the 15 days’ box office collections of Krrish 3’s Rs 228.23 cr.
‘Krrish 3’ is the Highest Grosser of 2013 collecting Rs. 244.47 crores since its release.
Big B congratulates Abhishek on ‘Dhoom 3’ success
(PTI) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan praised his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan for his success at the box office with his latest film ‘Dhoom 3’.
The film, which is the third offing from the ‘Dhoom’ franchise, saw the 37-year-old Junior B reprise the role of a cop.
“‘Dhoom 3’ weekend collection all India is Rs 107 crore. This is going beyond all records ever !! And going beyond berserk,” Bachchan, 71, posted on Twitter.
The actor also shared a childhood picture of Abhishek and said he never imagined his son to become a star one day.
“Abhishek on rare Sunday at Prateeksha, never imagined he would become what he is today,” Bachchan wrote.
