The Indian Express Group has announced its inaugural ?Express IT Awards? to recognise and reward the best technological innovations in IT and also companies from various sectors which have best uitilised them. The Express IT Awards, which are now open for entries, will honour both companies which are at the cutting edge of technology innovation and leading professionals across the IT industry.
The IT landscape of the country has undergone a drastic transformation. From the prized outsourcing business model to the rapidly changing technology usage among consumers, innovation has been the key factor not just for the large IT players but even start-ups, who have conceptualised products and services keeping in mind the changing business dynamics. The $108-billion Indian IT-ITes industry employs over three million people directly, which makes it one of the largest organised private sector employers in the country.
The methodology for the awards will follow the process of inviting entries from companies ? for which the last date is August 21 ? followed by the screening of applicants. Contenders for each of the award categories will be shortlisted by Knowledge Partner PwC and an eminent jury will decide the winners.
The categories announced for the awards are: The IT Innovation Awards, the IT Solution of the Year, the IT.Biz Awards, Green IT Awards, Corporate Social Responsibility in IT sector, Human Resources excellence in IT sector, Awards for Start-ups, IT Lifetime Achievement Award and IT Newsmaker of the Year Award. To provide a level playing field to the contenders, the awards have been divided into two categories: Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) and large corporates.
