The first Friday of March seems to be one of the worst for Bollywood, as despite three releases, Gulaab Gang, Queen, and Total Siyapaa, the audiences have stayed away from theatres and that means box office collections have been hit for a six.
In fact, all three films have got off to an unimpressive start at the ticket window. Though Queen, which has received glowing reviews from critics, has managed to do slightly better than its competitors, it is the Hollywood release 300: Rise of an Empire that holds dominance.
The dismal box office collections scene is being attributed to exam fever that has gripped the nation, due to which students and the youth have steered clear of theatres.
However, in the case of Gulaab Gang, the controversy over its release has severely affected the film’s opening, since people seem to be confused whether the film has released or not.
