Two-wheeler market leader Hero MotoCorp has appointed senior executives from global consultancy firm McKinsey and European auto technology firm AVL, as it plans rapid global expansion and works on developing its own products two-and-a-half years after separating from Japanese partner Honda.
Rajat Bhargava, formerly a senior partner at McKinsey & Co, has been appointed as the head of strategy and performance transformation, while Marcus Feichtner has joined the company as the head of the newly-created division ?engine design and development?.
Feichtner comes in from Austria-headquartered AVL, where he was the executive director of AVL?s India Technical Centre. Bhargava will be part of Hero MotoCorp?s top leadership group and will report directly to MD and CEO Pawan Munjal, while Feichtner will report to the head of R&D.
Pawan Munjal said, ?Bhargava has the ideal expertise and experience to play an important role… He will develop and execute the group performance agenda, define and drive special initiatives, and support me on our performance transformation initiatives. Feichtner will play a critical role with the ideal credentials, experience and domain knowledge in strengthening this development process.?
Meanwhile, Hero?s current HR head Anadi Pande has been appointed as the director of the School of Business & Management at the newly-established BML Munjal University, close to Gurgaon in Haryana. Prior to Hero, Pande was part of the faculty at IIM, Lucknow, for several years.
