According to her, staggering around like a drunk would have been easy to portray, but the director had instructed her to act in a very restrained manner.
?It was quite tough, because without touching a drop of alcohol, I had to act like a woman who is drunk without displaying any physical manifestations like slurring or tripping. I had to express pain through my eyes. My director, Ahishor Solomon asked me to refer to Meena Kumari?s character in Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam and how she expressed herself in the film. I had seen the film earlier, but I watched it again to observe how Meenaji had acted,? said Elena who is an actress from Ukraine.
