McAfee, the software security firm and part of Intel Corporation today said the full-featured version of mobile security solution is now available for Indian users as a free offering. The McAfee security solutions works across all Android and iOS mobile devices.
According to company, its free security solution initiative is aimed to make security a more integrated part of the Indian consumer experience.
This latest development comes at a time when India is seeing one of the growing smart phone market and slated to have 185 million mobile internet users by June 2014, according to IAMAI.
?With India placed on the tip of mobile device explosion, there is an overwhelming need of adoption of security and privacy protection in our digital lives,? said Jagdish Mahapatra, Managing Director, India and SAARC, McAfee.
?McAfee is committed towards raising awareness on cyber threats, to enable personal data security and protect digital lives. Our initiative to give away one of the strongest premium mobile security offerings at no cost is an enabler in that direction,? added Mahapatra.
Besides, India has the second biggest Android user base with over 93 percent market share as per IDC.
McAfee’s latest mobile security trends report found that around 82 percent of apps track users and 80 percent of apps collect location information ? invading user privacy.
