NTPC net declines 13% to Rs 2,201 crore

The country?s largest power generator, NTPC, has reported a 12.89% drop in net profit to R2,201.20 crore for the first quarter of FY15, mainly on account of the new tariff regulation that proposes switching the incentive scheme from plant availability factor (PAF) to plant load factor (PLF).

The unaudited total income stood at R18,885.14 crore against R16,391.00 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 15.22% quarter-on- quarter.

On operational parameters, NTPC, with an installed capacity of 43,128 MW, reported gross generation of 63.133 billion units, up from the 57.005 billion units in the corresponding quarter last year.
