Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary has got a new and unique makeover today. Sam Pitroda, advisor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, has launched a web portal searchforgandhi.in, first of its kind for children – they can search for all kinds of information on the father of the nation.
The portal presents Mahatma Gandhi’s life story through audios, videos, games and quizzes.
Launching Pitroda tweeted, ?Gandhian model of leadership is critical in today?s information age where openness & transparency are the way of public life?
In the tweets he wrote ?His life was his msg: simplicity, sacrifice, service, concern for minority, love for all, single std of conduct, truth etc. I encourage our young to study & discuss to change the national conversation from the Western to Indian model of development.?
The site had an unconventional launch and was unveiled through a virtual conference on
micro-blogging site Twitter . A similar Twitter Conference had been organised last year on October 2, Gandhi’s 144th birth anniversary. Several thousand people are reported to have joined the conference from many countries across the world .
Janhavi Prasada, Founder Youth4Gandhi Foundation, a non-profit initiative for youth empowerment tweeted, ?I as founder @y4gandh feel morally responsible to disseminate Gandhian values in various formats?.
