Queen, Gulaab Gang box office collections beaten by 300: Rise Of An Empire

Hollywood’s ‘300: Rise Of An Empire’ box office collections humbled Gulaab Gang, Queen, others.

Last week, three films with an impressive star cast releasing together? Queen, Gulaab Gang and Total Siyapaa. But, despite the hype of releasing it on women?s day, the Madhuri Dixit Nene-Juhi Chawla starrer, Gulaab Gang and Kangana Ranaut?s Queen brought little cheer to the box office.

While Queen has outperformed Gulaab Gang and Total Siyapaa, it?s the Hollywood release ‘300: Rise Of An Empire’, which dominated the weekend box office.

‘300: Rise Of An Empire’ gave a tough competition to Hindi releases with almost 90 per cent occupancy over the weekend. Having released in 894 screens, it garnered Rs 19.36 crore.

Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Queen’ could manage only Rs 10.15 core in the first three days of its release.

Mayank Shroff, manager, programming and film marketing, Cinepolis, says, ?300? took the best opening among all the releases, although Queen took over from Saturday evening onwards. ‘300: Rise Of An Empire’ was anyway a successful franchise, so it was expected to do better.?
