Ranbaxy arm to set up second Malaysia unit

Ranbaxy Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ranbaxy Laboratories, plans to invest $40 million to set up a second facility in Malaysia, and employ 200 people.

?The government of Malaysia has given approval to the company for setting up a greenfield manufacturing facility in Malaysia as an EPP (entry point project),? a company statement said.

In addition to serving the local market the facility will also export products to markets like Asean, West Asia, Europe, Sri Lanka, China and other select countries, Arun Sawhney, CEO , Ranbaxy, said. Ranbaxy Malaysia Sdn Bhd is a JV company of Ranbaxy Laboratories and Malaysian shareholders.
