State Bank Group launches payment gateway with HUDA

This initiative will also reduce the cost burden for the users and save their valuable time

The State Bank of India and the State Bank of Patiala today launched the Gateway of Payment through site to site integration with Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA).

The site was inaugurated by A.K Singh, Chief Administrator HUDA in the presence of General Manager, SBI, NW-II, Ashwani Bhatia and General Manager (SBP RNWII) Gurnam Singh.

Manoj Khattar, General Manager of SBI described the event as ?a great step in the world of technology banking as the now tech savvy generation?.

With this, the customers of both of these banks interested in booking plots under HUDA scheme will be able directly do so sitting at home. This initiative will also reduce the cost burden for the users and save their valuable time. Convenience of anywhere anyplace banking would go a long way to improve customer satisfaction.

In the meanwhile, in a major reshuffle at the top level in SBI Chandigarh Circle, Pendyala Surya Prakasha Rao and Manoj Khattar have taken over the charge as General Manager Network-I and Network-II, State Bank of India, Chandigarh Circle respectively. Network-I comprises of all the branches in Punjab while Network-II consists of branches in Haryana state.

Pendyala Surya Prakasha Rao, a B.Com graduate and diploma in Business Finance from ICFAI, is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Information Systems Audit and Control Association, Chicago, IL, USA. Prior to his posting at Chandigarh Circle, Rao was General Manager at State Bank of India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai and handling Private Equity vertical of SBI. He played a key role in launching new Private Equity Funds in SBI such as SBI Macquarie Infrastructure Fund (Fund size US$ 1.20 billion), Oman India Joint Investment Fund (Fund size US$ 100 million), apart from playing a major role in various strategic opportunities. Prakasha Rao has been working for SBI for last 31 years in different capacities both in and outside India.

Manoj Khattar, MSc (Stats) is a Probationary Officer of 1983 batch. Before joining Chandigarh Circle, he was posted as DGM (Business & Operations), Zonal Office, Vishakhapatnam (A.P). During his overall 30 years of work experience in the Bank, Khattar handled several critical roles viz. Rural Business at Hyderabad, Credit Risk Management at Corporate Centre, Mumbai, Commercial Banking at Ahmadabad etc.

These changes in State Bank of India, Chandigarh Circle (comprising of the states of Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh & UT Chandigarh) come on the heels of Lingaraj Mahapatra taking over the charge as Chief General Manager.
