The success of the recent launches from Jaguar Land Rover prompted Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry to urge employees to take a cue and improve quality and work on the existing range of products so that the new launches get positive customer response, according to sources present at the meeting. Mistry was addressing the company employees at the Tata Motors plant in keeping with the company?s tradition of addressing the employees at the plant on the first day of the new financial year. The automotive sector is going through a bad patch and therefore it is important for all to work together, Mistry told employees.
He mentioned that the automotive sector had not received any incentives from the government and therefore the market situation had become even tougher. The competition is also getting better and is coming out with products that are good, he said asking them to pull up their socks. Reducing costs, improving quality and productivity should be priority for everybody, he said.
