Technology Sabha returns to Goa

The Express Group?s premiere event for the movers and shakers in the e-governance firmament has returned to Goa for its twelfth edition with the theme of E-governance Evolved.

The Express Group?s premiere event for the movers and shakers in the e-governance firmament has returned to Goa for its twelfth edition with the theme of E-governance Evolved. Running from June 7-10 this time around, the topics of discussion are going to be Cloud computing, Security, IP Surveillance, Managed Printing Services and Enterprise Storage. With expert speakers from KPMG, IDC, PwC and Ernst & Young on hand as well as a who?s who of IT majors eager to share the latest developments in the field of information technology with an audience of policy makers and IT heads from the government and public sector, an informative time is promised for all.

The event was inaugurated by Ravi Saxena, additional chief secretary, department of science & technology, government of Gujarat; Anant Goenka, Head, New Media, The Indian Express Ltd; Anuradha Agrawal, VP, The Indian Express Ltd; and Sanjay Jaiswal, VP, The Indian Express Ltd.

Anuradha Agrawal, VP, The Indian Express Limited, noted, ?The first step was taken in the field of e-governance back in 1977 when the NIC was set up.? From there, the use of technology in governance has grown considerably. ?There is still a lot of work to be done as a large part of our population is still not exposed to the advantages of technology,? she concluded.

Ravi Saxena, additional chief secretary, department of science & technology, government of Gujarat, talked about the impact of IT on governance. He quoted the Gujarat chief minister as saying that the best governance is minimum governance. He depicted the various scenarios in which administration and technology could intersect. ?High technology will make public service ubiquitous. There will be a democratisation of innovation,? he commented.

For the first time, the event is being streamed live. With sessions on topics as diverse as analytics, advanced persistent threats and visual collaboration, the Sabha promises to be an engrossing event.
