Woodland announced the opening of 50 new stores across the country including four new exclusive footwear and apparel stores at Ludhiana, Amritsar, Muktsar and Mohali in Punjab.?
Harkirat Singh, Managing Director, Woodland Shoes who was here today to launch its winter collection including ?ResQ? and ?Warm Grip? said that innovation would keep the company ahead of other brands. He said that the new products were a step forward in technology advancement to support outdoor sports and safety.?
The ResQ collection of jackets come equipped with a special transmitter and is of utmost utility in emergencies like when trapped during snow avalanches. The device sends signal to the rescue team. The USP of the device is that it will last for a life time and does not require any maintenance or batteries. Similarly Warm Grip shoes are designed to generate active heating to the feet and keep the feet warm even when temperature is minus 20 degree Celsius. ?It has a user friendly control panel positioned on the outside of the shoes for easy access.?
Harkirat Singh said that the company was open to invest in Punjab and would double the capacity of Jalandhar tanneries. He said that at present it has 25 manufacturing units in Uttarkhand and Himachal Pradesh states.?
He said that the company was expecting 20 to 25 per cent growth this fiscal though few months showed slowdown impact. He, however, said that by the end of March 2014, the company turnover would be above Rs 1000 crores up from a turnover of Rs 850 crores in 2012-13. ?About 50 new stores would be added to the existing tally of about 500 stores by the end of current fiscal, Singh added.
